Hopefully others can shed more light on the recent stats.

Good luck, SUNY New Paltz is a great school.

My D is a soph. at NP. From what I understand, NP is alot more selective for in state students, especially from the NYC/Long Is. area. I think they are trying to encourage more geographic diversity. One of her friends was admitted this year from our area (Buffalo/Western NY) with average grades and SAT. I think being from CA will give you a stong advantage.

Thank you for the information. Do you think there is anything else that might help increase my chances? I toured the school over Labor Day weekend, and it seemed like a nice area, but it was hard to tell because most of the students were gone. Can you tell me anything about what the enviroment is like there?

We live about one hour south of New Paltz. My daughter, a current senior, has a few friends just starting their sophomore year their and absolutely love it. The few times I've been around campus it gave me the impression of being pretty eclectic.
