The wait is difficult, but hopefully worth it.
NP is really a sleeper SUNY. It has been getting tougher and tougher to get into.
And with so many fleeing to the area due to COVID, the area is really on the rise.
I think 20 years from now, many of the kids who go there will say “I wouldn’t get in if I applied now”
Their website says before 1-15, but my conversations with a few I think are in the know at NP- possibly tomorrow.
Also told they had a banner year for applications.
It’s her 1st choice now after really thinking about it. We loved it when we toured although we couldn’t see everything due to Covid. It’s only 2.5 hours from home which she really likes. She is going to apply to the Honors college. I’m just surprised there was no mention of a merit scholarship. So far she has received the Presidential Scholarship from every other SUNY she’s heard back from. I’m hoping maybe it’s in the official letter that gets mailed home. Best of luck to your son!
I think the better the SUNY the less likely to scholarship. Binghamton for example gives it out very rarely. NP is one of the lowest admit rates in SUNY, so this might be really tough to get. But best to you.
