Could I change majors?
i was accepted into the 3+2 accounting program but it says i take 3 years of economics at oneonta and 2 years of accounting(i think) at binghamton. could i change my major to just professional accounting?

What exactly did your acceptance letter say? I believe you may be misinterpreting what is being said.

^from the Oneonta website.

You must have applied to the Companion program. If you want to change, call up the admission’s dept. ASAP and discuss it with them.

You can not be admitted to the 3-2 program or any of the cooperative programs because the last 2 yrs (for 3-2) or 1yr (in case of 4-1) are at other schools that you must be accepted to. In other words, if you want to TRY to do the 3-2, you must apply to the Binghamton graduate business school after 2 years at Oneonta, take the GMAT’s, etc. There is no guarantee that you will be accepted into Binghamton. If you are not accepted at Binghamton, you just finish your BS at Oneonta. These cooperative programs are just agreements Oneonta has w/ other schools for an accelerated Masters at the other schools.

If you have been accepted to Oneonta, there is no reason for concern. You can tell the school at your orientation what major you want or go to the Division of Economics and Business office at any time any tell them you want to declare a professional accounting major.
