Hi I hope someone can help us. My son got accepted to Oneonta, New Paltz and York College of PA, and SUNY Albany for Computer Science for the Fall of 2013. (Waiting on Binghamton and SBU but SBU he would be a commuter and he would like to go away). We have visited all of them and really can't decide. He has a good feeling each time we went to Oneonta and he liked New Paltz just wasn't Thats my School kind of feeling when we left. If anyone has experiences, information or insight we would love the feedback. We also got into Plattsburgh and Oswego but the others are closer so unless the department blows us away we didnt need to do the 6 or 7 hour drive. Thanks

My son went to New Paltz and enjoyed his time there. He originally was going to go to Oneonta ( accounting major) but NP was closer and less isolated. The short drive to/from LI was great and easy trips to NYC a plus. I think NP academically may be a tad stronger then Oneonta.

Isn’t Albany stronger for computer science than the other choices?..just thinking academically; not necessarily “fit”…

Agree with above re: Oneonta v NP…if Albany is out

Thank you so much for responding to our post. All of your information is very helpful.

NP and Oneonta are great schools. NP is a little bit above Oneonta in terms of academics, but they are both great. Go with the fit.

I attended York college.
Great school.
