Any idea if letters from SUNY Purchase have been sent out yet? My daughter is waiting for a letter for both SUNY Purchase BA program and for the BFA program she auditioned for. The speaker at her audition session said they should have all letters out by 3/15 so hopefully soon? I would have thought that the undergrad letter may have already been sent because she applied by December 1.

Hi krib22. There are already two threads about this topic: SUNY Purchase–Serious Admission Issues/BA Theatre Early Action and: Any word from Purchase? You might want to check them out.

Thank you! I will check those out.

We have heard from suny purchase BS or bfa either. I heard there was something wrong with their computers

Thanks Jsh1952, good to know we are not the only ones. They did say during the Q&A session at the 2/16 auditions that there was new software in place and there were issues with it. I am just surprised there is not a decision yet on the BS program since i thought they did rolling admissions and my D applied early. Based on one of the other discussion groups listed above, sounds like some people were hearing this week so maybe today’s mail will bring a response.

In the other link, a suny staff member said the BA and bfa programs were already at capacity, so this should mean all acceptance letters should have bee sent out. Not looking good for us…

Where was this said @jsh1952?

Suny purchase - serious admission problems…

Actually…SUNY Purchase - serious admission issues/BA…

The post was on March 21 by mrgmar and said,

" At this point, the BA Theatre and Performance program is at capacity and is waitlisting late applicants who might qualify for admission. So if your student does submit a second application for Theatre and Performance at this point the student will very likely be waitlisted if he/she is admissible."

I don’t see where it says anything about the BFA. This post was in response to a question about whether or not you have to apply separately to the BA program, I think.

Clearly, if the BA program is at capacity, the BFA program would also be at capacity, as it is much harder to get into and a smaller group…
