bogface- did you get the callback at the audition? im sorry if you already answered this im really tired
I wouldn’t assume anything… that could mean anything. like once they make any decision they probably update the account y akno?

Connyc and nmicale09- I don’t think they are accepting people into the Drama Studies Program if they applied for the BFA in acting. The problem with my daughter’s application was she first applied to the school using the common application and they only had “Drama Studies” listed as an option for theatre. Then she found out that she HAD to use the Suny Purchase application to apply to the acting program, so after she did that application Purchase had two applications for her. So as of now she has already heard that she got accepted into the Drama Studies program and she’s still waiting for the BFA.

No, I didn’t get a callback. At first I thought that was a bad sign, but quite a few of the students I talked to were accepted without callbacks.

bogface- reallly? i didn’t get the callback either so that makes me feel better. have you still not heard anything? im going crazyy

My daughter’s account indicated this morning that she will receive a decision via mail in 5 to 7 business days. No call yet. Thoughts? Oh yes… and she auditioned Feb 13th at Purchase.

and in the BFA Acting…

hey nyc gal- I just saw my account and it changed to that too. It’s either an waitlist or rejected. Definitely not an acceptance… a call would have come. OH well ha.

Mine still has no update.

It says: We are in receipt of all of your required application materials. All Performing Arts Programs (Acting, Dance, Music, Theatre Arts & Film) require an audition or other talent review… Still.

Is this bad? Good? Thoughts? No call, letter or anything.

Yeah, mine still says the same exact thing, followed by my audition date/time/location and a button to “Cancel” my “Audition Request”? When was your audition, emi2010? Mine was February 6. It’s so weird how it’s been over an entire month with no news while people who’ve auditioned later than me have heard something already…

Maybe admissions is going through the list of applicants alphabetically? Who knows?
I wish you all the very best!!! There was one student in the BFA who said he got in through the waitlist process in AUGUST of last year!

My last name begins with the letter B and I haven’t gotten my letter yet lol.

My audition was on February 2 in Chicago. I wonder how many other people are in the same boat as us.

i wonder if they are working on all the people who auditioned on campus before they get to the unified people?

Okay, so now my account has changed and says:

We are in receipt of all of your required application materials. Your application is currently under review. The Admissions Committee will contact you within the next few days should they require additional material or information in order to make a decision on your file.

Mean anything in particular? Before it said:

We are in receipt of all of your required application materials. All Performing Arts Programs (Acting, Dance, Music, Theatre Arts & Film) require an audition or other talent review. Be sure to complete the audition or talent review for your program so that a decision can be rendered on your file.* Please e-mail the Office of Admissions at Purchase if you have any questions.

I didn’t apply for acting though, I applied for DW.

It means that your portfolio has been opened and the admissions department is actively making decisions. Good luck!

We are also still waiting patiently - of course expecting rejection or at best wait list since no calls for acting program. Way back I posted the info about no call back meaning you did not get in per 2 students handling my son’s group at audition - that was 2/19 I wish the best for you all

When are we going to find out??? Auditioned 2/18 for studio comp and still NOTHING! UGH!

Seriously… This is getting kind of ridiculous. I wouldn’t be as annoyed if they hadn’t told us that they were going to inform everyone the first week of March… It’s a bit late for that. My mypurchase page STILL has shows the “…Be sure to complete the audition or talent review for your program…” message.

I just hope that this long wait doesn’t mean rejection for the BFA acting people… I remember at my audition that I saw at the top of the auditors sheets check-mark boxes for “Admit,” “Deny,” “Alt I,” and “Alt II.” You’d think it’d be really easy to just put all the denies in one pile and mail rejections immediately right?

I recall there being a post earlier on this thread saying that rolling rejections come first, followed by acceptance calls followed by wait list letters. Even if that’s true, I have no idea where they are in the deny->admit->wait-list process.

Still nothing.

I called, my letter should be arriving tomorrow or the day after. They sent it out on Friday. I’m praying for waitlist at this point.
