And I love you all! There’s no way I would have been able to keep my cool without the advice on these boards.

And neospeed, I’m sad to hear that but glad that you’ve got such an open attitude. You’re right. I do think we’ll all end up doing what’s right for us next year. Keep on keepin’ on, as they say.

hi all
i have a few questions- first, is there a difference between the purchase alternate list and waitlist?
also, does anyone know how likely it is to be taken off the waitlist?

I haven’t gotten that email, but mypurchase account still hasn’t been changed… And to think i had anticipated hearing back from purchase before anywhere else haha

my s got his rejection yesterday I guess the info we got at the audition about no call back =rejection was true oh well I wish you all the best where ever this takes you s got into bfa acting U Conn, Mason Gross and UNCSA so we are very blessed he has some options hope to hear great news from all of you

I just got my rejection letter for Dramatic Writing, and it said they weren’t admitting any new students for the Dramatic Writing program for the 2010-2011 year…? Why would they allow students to apply, then?

musicmom, I did promise to tell you what happened to my nephew for the Studio Production program at Purchase. He was accepted. He was told at his interview that he would be accepted and so already knew that but I didn’t want to say that before. But now he has it in writing too. Congrats to your son on his acceptance.

hey everyone
I auditioned for Purchase in January at the Unifieds in New York. I didnt get a call or an email. But has anyone not gotten these things and been accepted or waitlisted?

Renthead, as far as we have gathered, no one has been accepted or waitlisted period (for the Acting program). The e-mail that I received seem to indicate that they are still very much in the decision making process. However, rejections are sent out on a rolling basis, so things are looking good if you have not gotten one yet. I really have no gage as to how much the e-mail plays into acceptance in the program. I posted it earlier, it’s pretty much up for interpretation as to if you won’t be accepted if you didn’t get it! Who knows. I would assume that you are good if you have not heard anything yet! No news is good news :)

Did you get a callback? At Unifieds, it generally meant that you were asked to do your monologues on film after doing them initially. I’m really not sure how much this helps! Best of luck!

I do have personal knowledge of one student (who is not a CC poster) that was accepted into the Purchase BFA Acting program for Fall 2010. She got her phone call on March 3, and she did have a callback at her audition.

Emi2010 - let’s us know how your story progresses with the email you received.

I was away this and I just got my mail. I already read this forum and when I saw the small, thin envelope from Purchase I was sure it was a rejection. I opened it, read it, and was pleased to find out I was an alternate (waitlisted). Best surprise ever.

soozievt - Thanks for the official news. Purchase was Brian’s first choice, so he is thrilled. Is your nephew planning on attending, or is he waiting to hear from other schools?

musicmom…I don’t know yet. So far, he has received all acceptances. He is waiting to hear from three more, two of which I know he will not choose over Purchase. But one that he is waiting on is a favorite. It may be his first choice. I think that school and Purchase are his two favorites. So, until he hears from that one particular school, I don’t know the final decision. Purchase is one he is considering, I know. If he lands on Purchase, I’ll let you know as he is from NJ like your son and plays in a rock band like your son does.
