i noticed that my purchase account changed when i got the e-mail! it now says the “currently under review thing”! No news is good news! As soon as yours switches to “under review”, i bet you will get an e-mail or call! best of luck!

operation, i’m in the same boat…when did you audition?

Thanks, emi2010. I really, really hope that the whole “no news is good news” thing is true!

Littlemermiad: I auditioned early February (either the 6th or 7th) in San Francisco.

Im dyinggg

^that was in caps but it changed it haha^

Also, I just got my rejection letter. I got the notification on myPuchase that said “A decision has been made on your file and a notification will be coming in 5-7 days)” and I did not get an email. I just wanted to make everything clear to anyone who is still wondering about their own status.

renthead, i’m sorry
for everyone still waiting, i called admissions today and they said they are simply still making decisions and will still be notifying during the first week of april. waiting is hard…

My mypurchase just changed to this:
“A decision has been made on your file. You will receive notification from the Office of Admissions within the next 5 - 7 business days.”
Since I wasn’t called, I’m assuming this is either waitlist or rejection…

My account changed to “decision blah blah” too… Here’s to some light mail in the next few days!

My daughter got notice of being on waitlist, today-a decent start to college applications. She really wants USC BA or BFA

I also have the myPurchase announcement: “A decision has been made on your file. You will receive notification from the Office of Admissions within the next 5 - 7 business days.” It just changed today… and I didn’t receive an e-mail, so we’ll see…

Got my rejection today, which wasn’t very shocking, considering how it was my worst audition. Guess this means they’re still rejecting people.

still haven’t heard, called today. said it should come within the next two weeks

This thread seems to have gone dead --has everybody heard? We are still waiting…

I presume everyone is still waiting to hear acceptances for SUNY Purchase?

Hey anotherday,

I applied for Dramatic writing as well… said the same thing… No new students being admitted… I tried calling the director of admissions and the admissions office but no one has returned my phone calls.

It is a bit fishy that they would let us apply, put in all that effort etc… and then just casually send us a letter that no one is actually going to be in the program.

I spoke to the admissions office a couple times in december and november and they never let me know that the dramatic writing program was closed next term.

Did anyone hear anything about this situation? It is not even on the website.

D just heard today, May 10, accepted to BFA Acting company. Of course, it’s so late that she has already sent a deposit to Emerson and is pretty excited about going there. What to do?

People more knowledgeable than I am will have more specific advice, but-- I think she should definitely go meet the faculty at Purchase and talk talk talk. Purchase is spoken of so highly, is reasonably priced…and Emerson’s rigid cut program seems anti-creativity to me. On the other hand, for all the great things said about Purchase–they’re almost 6 weeks late with this (I’m assuming this isn’t a waitlist situation?), and that suggests to me that student needs are low on their list of priorities.

If your daughter is excited about Emerson, I would go with it. After all enthusiasm and affinity is very important. Besides, Emerson is a fantastic program in a great town.

Emerson it is. the financial package from Purchase was laughable.
