SUNY schools?

At my school they advised us as incoming juniors to start looking for colleges in case we want to opt for early admission, anyway i was considering picking a SUNY school since I live in NY and they are relatively cheap. Now, so far a school that i have pretty much fallen IN LOVE with is SUNY Cortland.
Does anyone go here?
Is it a good school for an aspiring biology teacher?
What do you think of the actual school, campus, education, social life, dorms?
Would you recommend it?
and how selective are they?
I tried to look these up but all I got were cookie-cutter answers.

Also what about Binghamton? The way their website is set up it makes it seem like the school is divided into many campuses, and one campus seems purely education- i don't want to be limited to just meeting people that are just like me if anyone can clarify this it would be great!

Finally do you recommend any other SUNY school?

Binghamton isn’t divided up into different campuses, it’s just different “schools” within the school. The school of education is a graduate school so that’s not relevent to you. You’d be in Harpur which is the college of arts and sciences so you will definitely NOT be with only one type of person; the only people you won’t be with are nursing, social work, and management students.

Geneseo is known for their education majors so you may want to look into that.

Oneonta also known for their education majors, is one of the most highly ranked SUNY’s and has one of the most beautiful SUNY campuses.

You did not give your stats, so I do not know if you have a good chance at Oneonta, Binghamton or Geneseo.

What do you want to study?

So far between freshman and thus far I have an overall 97 GPA I got an award for the 10 highest in the freshman class last year.
And I want to be a science teacher, in specific a biology teacher

I have to ditto the Oneonta suggestion. It has a very strong education program. Cortland, which you already love, is another excellent idea.

[School of Education & Professional Studies - SUNY Potsdam](School of Education & Professional Studies | SUNY Potsdam)

SUNY Potsdam, has the oldest teacher education program in the SUNY system, with its origins going back to 1816.

Clarkson University is also located in Potsdam, with St. Lawrence University & SUNY Canton near by in Canton. Four colleges within Potsdam & Canton.

Take a look at the Sciences and the Education Department at SUNY Plattsburgh.

Thank you for clarifying that for me about Binghamton Another question how is the social life- like at cortland is it a typical “jock” campus I read that some people feel this way I mean I like sports so i think I’d be ok but just your opinions
