SUNY STONY BOOK - 2023 Decisions

The purpose of this thread is to enable discussion regarding application process and decisions for members of class 2023

From class 2022 posts, it appears that Stony Brook started sending out decisions in mid-December even though the application deadline is 1/15. Stony Brook does not state anywhere that they have rolling admission. Does anyone have any additional information? Thanks so much

Stony Brook begins sending out decisions in January. All decisions will be made by April 1. There is no rolling admission.

Applying for Fall 2019, My sat is a 1330, my gpa is 3.7, took two Aps ( bio and Lang)and one IB course(hota), and taking college calculus and college forensics science

My chances??

@ 2 It seems that your stats fall within 50% / average for SB

So like higher chance of me getting in or getting rejected?

@ 2 Unfortunately, no one can answer your question. The college admission process is unpredictable and subjective, and your essay and other parts of application matter.

This is from SB website:

ACADEMIC PROFILE OF ENROLLED FRESHMEN

91-97

Mid-50% range for GPA

620-730

Mid-50% range for SAT Math

590-680

Mid-50% range for SAT Evidence-Based
Reading and Writing

26-31

Mid-50% range for ACT

Can I apply with my major undecided and then declare health science after?

Application was sent in late October. When should we expect to get a decision?

My son just got a letter saying they got his Common App. Wishful thinking.

Same here got in SUNY Buffalo already though so feeling hopeful .

Looks like students started receiving acceptances around Dec. 10th last year. Hope to hear soon. Good luck to everyone!

@1happypappy I am curious to know where you received the date of December 10? As you can see above, SB Admissions Office advised that decisions begin to be released in January.

@AJC Take a look at this thread from last year…

@AJC WHAT @STEM2017 said is where I saw It on the first page of that conversation thread @sbudmissions can you explain why last year students were notified as early as 12/10? Has there been a policy change?

Got my ‘new student’ tab today. If that means an acceptance, I’m excited and thrilled!

Exciting! When did you apply?

Congrats @TechPlus…When did you apply?
