Checked the portal today and I got accepted! Didnât get official email yet. I guess it takes 2-3 days to get decision after the new tabs are added.
Congratulations @ser342. You managed to get accepted in December even after @sbuadmissions said decisions would start rolling out in January.
Accepted! Saw my application status change to an acceptance letter a couple of hours ago.

New member here - the person who claims to be SBUâs college rep and is telling everyone that decisions are starting in January, is there a way to confirm that they are actually a representative of SBU? Clearly some people are getting accepted in December.

I went into my application status and it said congratulations youâve been admitted! I applied for linguistics.
Stats:
33 ACT
4.35 GPA
AP Calc and Lang (Only APs available)
Tour guide and intern for school
Lots of ECs, including black belts in two martial arts, founder of several clubs, and section leader in our schoolâs band program.

@collegemomof2ds Iâm pretty sure that @sbuadmissions is legit. Member since 2007, probably vetted by CC moderators, their âRoleâ is listed as College Rep. Itâs probably an account managed by the University and not just one person. I would definitely believe them over some people posting here.

@STEM2017 MY daughterâs account changed where she can no longer upload but nothing about acceptance yet. I guess we will just have to wait and see.

Well, thank you STEM2017. I did read through last year thread and sbuadmissions comments, so I was surprised to receive my decision this early. My application status stated about admitted student website and welcoming letter to one of the top universities in the world (95% are employed and affordable tuition). Iâm here to let people know that not every applicants will receive their decisions in January. It is possible to get the decision back in December.
