SUNY Stony Brook - Biomedical Engineering BE vs Physics BS

Hello, all

Current senior applying to SUNY SB and undecided between Biomedical Engineering and Physics BS programs at Stony Brook. I’m wondering which program is more selective, and which program is easier to transfer into after 1 or 2 semesters.

Thank you very much, I appreciate your input.

The BME page indicates that changing into BME is competitive, with a minimum of 3.2 college GPA in major courses with at most one grade below B-, for those not initially in the engineering division. The physics page has no mention of an admission process to change into the major. You may want to contact the school and departments directly for more information

SUNY Physics is very well regarded, Nobel Laureates on faculty etc. assume it’s more competitive of the two. Post on Reddit r/SBU
