Hi, I submitted my application in November for Pre-Nursing and still havenā€™t got a decision letter. Is there a chance for me to get in? Or do you think Iā€™m waitlisted or rejected?

Hi, I applied to Honors college but got an e-mail that I was accepted to University scholars, does this mean I didnā€™t get into honors college? FYI I listed University scholars as my second choice

Has anyone gotten their basic financial info yet from Stony Brook that lays out the cost of attendance etc? Thought we should have seen this by now.

Yes received on Wednesday.

I donā€™t think we have received the actual cost of attendance sheet yet from Stony in the mail, the way we have for other schools but we can see it in Solar.

Son has an acceptance and my thought is stats aside, SB direct admits have shown heavy CS interest the subject with summer CS and math extra classes, work, and CS projects.

Did he send SAT scores? Wondering if going test optional is detrimental for CS admit

Yes, my son did sent his SAT score.
I do not have any specific inside information regarding Stony Brook but one consultant on a webcast made the statement that they estimate that SAT submitted students have twice the admit rate in competitive programs than the non SAT submits in optional schools. They believe the extra data point of the SAT test made these applicants an easier admit for the schools and stated that MIT will not be test optional in the future as they found the SAT score to be a good indicator for them.
