<p>I know ratings say Rutgers is a bit better, I'm a new york resident, which one do you guys think is truly better for an undergrad math degree?</p>
<p>SUNY Stony Brook is more highly regarded I think in the sciences and in math - it gets better every year and has been quickly rising above other northeastern public universities. Stony Brook is really on the rise, but Rutgers is fine too.</p>
<p>There both good, but for math, Rutgers is probably a little better, for science, Stony Brook is better. They are both good schools.</p>
