I got into both schools and am torn between which is better

i think StonyBrook is more well-known and was more selective in their admissions

but Albany has the pre-optometry program-- which is what I"m going to work on becoming--an optometrist, even though i'm horrible in math and I haven't taken Chemistry and Physics

i could still apply for optometry school if I just take the required science classes but i think having pre-optometry as a major would look good to the very selective optometry schools and i can just take the required classes, unlike if i probably majored in biology in StonyBrook-- i might take classes i won't necessarily need to be an optometrist

also.. StonyBrook is a lot closer-- i'll still have to dorm but it won't seem so foreign as Albany i think because i have never gone there...
and i hear its pretty diverse

any input would be appreciated.. of course i'm going to visit but i still need the pros and cons beforehand i think ..
thanks so much in advance :)

its better to go to where you're more comfortable with as opposed to where they have your major right?

i feel more comfortable with stonybrook but it doesn't have the pre-optometry program which is what it making this so hard

i've been reading up on albany also and there's a lot of 'you don't have a social life if you don't drink' and 'ppl get depressed a lot cuz of the cold weather' =/

I just came back from visiting Stony Brook today. I hated the campus. There were very little people on campus, perhaps they all went home. Most of the campus is under construction. The big fountain in the middle was turned off. I was really surprised that the campus was worse than the pictures I saw on their website. It was totally different. You have to check it out yourself.
