SUNY students lobby for tuition increases

It's rare to see students and families requesting tuition increases, but that seems to be the case. Some of the well-known SUNYs, including U Albany and Geneseo, have been forced to cut programs already and students can read the writing on the wall and UB's president has acknowledged that further cuts will impact students directly. There was strong student support for an increase last year, but ultimately it failed to pass and tuition was only increased for OOS and grad students. Undergrad tuition remains at $4,970/year for the four year colleges and universities.
