SUNY to CUNY; tough decision

Well I had very good grades in high school (went to a specialized high school in the city). When I first applied to colleges, I got accepted into Baruch basically with a full-ride scholarship. I also got accepted into Stony Brook with a very decent scholarship so I went to Stony Brook because it was a better school overall (key word, overall) and I didn't know what major I wanted to pursue.

Anyway, I'm now a junior in the business program in Stony and find it to be a complete waste of time. My GPA is currently 2.85 with about 70 something credits, because I never planned on transferring or going to grad school. Well, now I wish I could go back and change things because Baruch is a much better school for business. I believe it is way too late to get in for Fall 2010 but I am considering withdrawing from Stony Brook for the Fall semester and trying to get into Baruch for the Spring. What are my chances, realistically?

yeah, stony blows big time. i would maybe withdraw and go to a CC to get your grades up. or stay at stony if you can stand it and take easy classes, like soc 105 (with linda wicks), psy 103 (but not with kaplan or canli, they’re hard), mec 280 for sure, almost any psy class, even if you haven’t taken 103 (but maybe not the biopsych ones… go on ratemyprofs), soc 247 with michael something, and other easy ones to just boost your grades. that’s what’s most important right now. good luck

Wow, we are like the exact same people. I, too, attend Stony Brook, but was accepted by Baruch, which I seriously regret not choosing. If I don’t get into any of my other schools, I will attend Baruch. I think if you pull above a 3.0 you’ll be in much better shape of getting into Baruch.

yeah def try get 3.0 or better and you shuld be good, some friends of mine were getting rejected to QC with 2.8’s.
