<p>Hi, im just wondering about my chances.
Ethnicity- Korean
Location- New York
1st generation u.s college applicant.</p>

<p>.gpa- 85/100
.2 honors and 1 ap. (im taking ap this year)
.sat- 1550 is highest now but im retaking it and plan on getting 17-1800
.school does not rank</p>

<p>Clubs etc.
. 100+ hours of community service
.art club 4 years
.sadd club 2 years
.multi cultural 3 years
.international club 2 years
.worked part time for 2 beauty supply stores.</p>

<p>My top school and biggest reach is probably binghamton.
Other schools im applying to are stony brook, new paltz, purchase, buffalo, geneseo, oswego, and plattsburgh.</p>

<p>I know im an under achiever but what are my chances with these schools? Thanks and ill take every advice into consideration.</p>

<p>i am no expert, but i think you have a pretty good chance, especially if you raise your SAT just a little bit. SUNY schools tend not to be super selective, but you still get a really good education. both my parents went to stonybrook and although overall they liked it, both said if they had to do it over they would go to a smaller school. my father had to drop pre-med because it was so overcrowded, which increased competition to the point where it was impossible for him to keep up. my mother couldn’t get into dental school because so many people applied, too. both had good grades. you may like large schools, but just in case you haven’t given size much thought, this is something to take into consideration.</p>

<p>Thanks that means a lot. I preferred bigger schools but now I might reconsider lol.</p>
