Super anxious--can someone please chance me for UCLA?

Hey guys,

As decisions are about a month away for UCLA, I’m getting more and more anxious by the day. I applied to UCLA as an English major; however, I’m missing two of their prerequisites :l I was focusing too much on the prerequisites for UCI so that’s why I didn’t really pay attention to UCLA’s classes, which I now kinda regret.

I have a 3.94 GPA, I fulfilled all classes except this lower division writing class, ENGL 4W, and ENGL 10 A. So basically, I have 3/5 prerequisites finished. ENG 4W can be seen as an English 102 class and ENGL 10A is seen as a British literature class.

One thing I noticed is that the average admitted GPA for English transfers is around 3.71, based on last year’s information listed on their website. I guess something that will cushion me a little are my extra curriculars and my GPA, but I don’t know if that’ll make much of a difference since English over there is impacted.

Can someone please chance me? Thank you!

I am, of course, in no way qualified to advise you on this, but I think you should be fine. I got into UCSB with only 5/8 of the prerequisites in an impacted major. Obviously I know UCLA is much more difficult to get into, but still. Your GPA should help, and if your ECs are good, I think you’ll get in!
