Hi guys, I dont have many people who know a lot about the sats so i hope you can help me out. I took 3 sat subject tests today and 2 previously in June. When i registered, they gave me this option to apply 4 schools to have the scores sent for free and i opted out but then i added 4 schools just for the heck of it for these sats. BUT, i only felt confident on one test taken today, so I can choose which scores to report rather than which day? And should i just remove the 4 schools and wait to have my scores back and then decide then (by paying the extra score reporting fee) when i come to applying to colleges. Plus, do colleges require an official score report (because it seems liek a scam to just make people pay a lot, esp. those who apply to 10+ colleges). Can i report it myself on my college app by listing my scores out? All in all, I want to be able to choose individual tests on the highest scores, so can i do that? And should i remove the 4 colleges if i am still unsure?

They do need an official score report.

dude, 5 subject tests?

you are confused…

that’s way too many

no i took 5, but i only want to report the top 2-3 tests…but they’re on different days…can i do that? Or do all scores of that day get reported to the 4 schools?

you should have only taken 2-3 tests lol.

if you wish to use score choice, you must send a score report to each college. you get 4 free when you register for an SAT test. However, the deadline to submit free score report requests is long before you will receive scores for your latest tests. if you want to pick among your best scores, you must re-send score reports, selecting which tests you want to send, to each school. this time, however, it will cost you $12 each.

so should i remove the four free choices and just wait till i get all of my scores back? And do they allow you to choose the individual tests or is it the inidivual days?

??? Sorry, the question is urgent sicne if i have to remove the schools, i only have 8 days to do so.

You should check directly with the College Board, either on their website or by calling them.

The College Board [website page on Score Choice](<a href=“College Board - SAT, AP, College Search and Admission Tools”>Send SAT Scores to Colleges - SAT Suite | College Board) says:

“Score Choice gives you the option to choose which scores (by test date for the SAT and by individual test for SAT Subject Tests) you send to collegesin accordance with an institution’s stated score-use practice. You can choose scores from one, several, or all SAT test dates.”

For more information, check out the [Score Choice Tutorial](<a href=“College Board - SAT, AP, College Search and Admission Tools”>College Board - SAT, AP, College Search and Admission Tools) on the Score Report page.

You should also know that some schools want to see all your scores. Check out [this list/url.

I think IBfootballer answered your questions, but here goes again:

“i only felt confident on one test taken today, so I can choose which scores to report rather than which day?”

Yes, you can choose which Subject Test scores to report, rather than which day.

“And should i just remove the 4 schools and wait to have my scores back and then decide then (by paying the extra score reporting fee) when i come to applying to colleges.”

Well, if you want to use Score Choice to report only your best scores, than don’t you have to remove those four schools? Although – you should check the [url=http://professionals.collegeboard.com/profdownload/sat-score-use-practices-list.pdf]SAT Score Use Practices List](Higher Education Professionals | College Board) to see if any of those colleges require all your scores, in which case you might as well take advantage of the free reporting.

“do colleges require an official score report”

You could check with the individual colleges, but I think for most colleges, the answer is yes, they do require an official score report.

If you want to pick and choose your best scores, you have to forfeit the four free reports and send them later. Sending them now will send your all of your scores from this administration regardless of how well you did. Perhaps send them to safeties or some of the less selective colleges you are applying to.

And yes, they do require the official score report.
