Super high GPA + Great ECs + Low SAT?

So a friend of mine is in a bit of a pickle for college admissions - she has a good GPA, great ECs, but an unfortunately low SAT. She's kind of a terrible test taker (has failed all of her AP exams, etc.)

Here's her story.

Captain of two sports, three season athlete, student gov't, multiple leadership positions, founder of 1 club.

3.8 uw GPA, top 10% of class

SAT 1400 - she got a 400something on every single section and has taken it three times and to no avail has not broken 1500.

Shes wants to go to some higher end schools in Boston (think BC, BU, NEU, etc)

advice??

Has she tried the ACT? She might to better at it. Also, there are many schools that don’t require standardized test scores. If she has good SATIIs that could help her too.

She hasn’t taken SAT II’s but her track record with standardized tests are vivacious at best.

That SAT score would make it very difficult to gain admittance into those colleges.
Even then, once she passed that barrier, if she is a terrible test taker, actually being in college would be challenging.

Should she take the ACT?

Is she practicing enough?
I sometimes have test anxiety and the only way I can manage is to raise my confidence by studying for a very long time and assuring myself that I know the material.

Get th blue book. Work through it. Don’t stop until you can do the problems in your sleep. And then take it again.

Colleges will probably think your schools grade inflation is really high

Is vivacious the word you were looking for?

She is toast. No way she’s accepted. Pray for the ACT.

If she’s serious she should probably also get her GPA up. For those standards, its definitely not “super high.”
