Sounds like you’re in

^AlexHarper any reason? theres a bunch of kids applying from my school probably equally qualified some a little better some a little worse…i know UNC has an OOS quota in a sense…could that hurt my chances ?

My daughter has applied OOS as well and I have tried to learn everything I can to determine her chances. We visited and I asked the admissions person doing the talk what it would take to get an OOS kid in. They have the 18% OOS rule that includes international and athletes. Basically, unless you are the next genius you will most likely need a hook…URM, athlete, legacy. My daughter is a legacy, but he indicated that the stats needed for OOS are higher and the legacy would get her “off the bubble”. Getting in OOS is about as competitive as an ivy. Fortunately, my D has already been accepted to an awesome school with $!! Good luck!

^ my school usually has about 8-12 applicants to UNC and between 0-3 admits in the last 4-5 years so yes i understnd its pretty competitive. thanks for the insight!
