Here is what my family has made the past 2 years
2009- $51600
2010- $44400

For the UC’s, what is considered income low Income? and am I considered low income?

After looking for a while on the internet the only link I found that addresses this issue is a footnote found at the bottom of page 3 on this link.

http://www.ucop.edu/news/factsheets/2010/freshman_admit_profile_2010.pdf

I am only confused because for 2009 I am above $45,000 wheras for 2010 I am under it.

Thanks in advance

and there is a total of 4 people in my household (myself, little bro, mom, and dad)

This is late, but I’ll post it for future reference.

According to the US Census Bureau, median income for a family of 4 in California is $77596. I would say you’re low income because your family’s making under what 50% of people with similar circumstances in the state are making.

Would it be a problem if I put last year’s income in the spot where you check if you’re eligible for the fee waiver? I know the income hasn’t changed by much, and my parent’s couldn’t tell me this year’s income yet.

I am still very confused

According to the Link above 45k and below is low income.

but I am very confused because according to the UCSD description: [UC San Diego Comprehensive Review Admission Process: Freshman Selection](http://www.ucsd.edu/prospective-students/freshmen/eval-process.html)

Does this mean there is a chart that tells you based upon size of family and income if you are low income or not?

I have only seen one such chart. It was on the ACT fee waiver and it said the for family of 4 low income is when they make under $37300

Maybe the ACT has different standards than the UC’s.

So let me get this straight… The UC’s do not care how little or huge your family size is as long as you are under the $45,000 barrier you are considered low income?
