Hi, just wondering if there are low cost or free service's for the students to and/or from the airport? From what I can tell, the Super Shuttle has a cost envolved of 25-35.00 dollars with a 3.00 dollar discount for DU students?
My D, seems to think it is free for students? Is that possible, and if not, what is the cheapest way to get to the airport for them?

Super Shuttle probably is the least expensive way to get to the airport. The airport can be a 45-minute drive from DU. It’s definitely not free; Super Shuttle is a private, nationwide company.

You can also pay more and get a private car through Super Shuttle.

The light rail train system doesn’t yet go all the way to the airport, but it’s being expanded and eventually will.

I don’t know what a regular taxicab ride would cost.

Thanks for that link! I checked out some of the shuttle services, and the horrid reviews (even some folks saying they hadn’t been picked up) had me worried. So I looked at public transportation and there is a pretty quick route - especially since my S is in Towers, right by the light rail stop. Short hop on light rail (H line) to Nine Mile Station, then the Skyride bus directly to the airport. With just a carryon it will be a breeze.

Well, what my D has been doing (twice now) is taking the train to the bus station (not sure which station) and then taking the bus (skyride) to the airport. Very easy, and if you plan ahead, gets you there on time. Must be the same route as mentioned by Sweetbeet

Yes, and I just discovered that even the Skyride bus (usually $9) is included in the CollegePass - so the whole journey is “free” to students! Such a deal. Sure beats a $30 or $65 shuttle!

Yes, taking the public transportation is the best bet. It is free for DU students with their ID card. It is also worth noting that Denver is currently building a light rail station at the airport! Which means lightrail rides straight from DU campus to the airport.
