Ok so I already posted a chance me but didn’t get any responses. I feel like I didn’t format it correctly and this is why I am creating this new discussion! I will be a first generation college student, and my family as well as myself have no idea about anything college related.
State: Georgia
School Type: Public
Gender: Male
Ethnicity: Multi-Racial
Major: Energy Engineering (College of Earth & Mineral Sciences)
I am choosing Energy engineering because I am highly interested in alternative and renewable forms of energy. I also feel like clean energy will be booming in the future and would like to get a degree and job in it before the (hopeful) boom.
Scores:
New* SAT: 1320 ( 620 CR, 700 MTH)
ACT: 25 ( 27 ENG, 29 MTH, 19 R, 25 S) I took this ACT my junior year and decided not to send my score to Penn State because it was below average.
AP: Stat-3
Grades:
GPA UW: 3.56
Class Rank: 384/984 ( I attend a very competitive school, the largest in Georgia)
AP/Honors/Accel.: 16 ( AP Physics, AP Stat, AP Calculus, AP Lang)
EC:
FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) President
DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America)
TALON (School Leadership Club)
TSA ( Technology Student Association)
High School Baseball Team: Freshman and Sophomore years
I have volunteered at numerous School & Community related events.
I have applied to multiple colleges, but I am very eager to hear my chances at Penn State @ University Park (OOS). For my application I did not sign up for the summer session because I will be out of the country this summer, is it better to have agreed to do the summer session? And if Penn State is a reach, could anyone give me some info on other colleges offering an alternative/ renewable energy degree? Thank you for you time and I will be all ears to every piece of feedback I get!!
