I have to decide by Monday, PLEASE HELP ME OUT!!!!

Where will I get a better education?
I can major in ANY form of Engineering at either school except BME [which I didn't want to do anyway :)], which school will help me get into MIT for grad easier?
Which school will give me a better education?
Is the Hopkins "name brand" worth the extra $100,000 by the time I graduate?

HEEEEEELLLLLPPPPPP!!!!!!

Which branch of engineering? Maryland is a top engineering school, ranked #25 by US News. JHU is ranked #14. The average SAT scores at JHU are 100 points higher than at Maryland.

So, for undergrad engineering, it depends on how sensitive your family is to the added cost of JHU. For most families, Maryland would be the better choice with the trade-off between selectivity and price.

Maryland has a great campus in a fun location with lots of social life and wonderful new engineering facilities.

save the 100k and go to Maryland

Go with Maryland. $100K is no token sum. Of course, if your folks are well off, then JHU may be worth it. But to most of us, JHU is not $100k better than Maryland.

I also vote for Maryland. It is ranked very well in engineering, and is on a campaign to continue improving and building its reputation. The difference in academic rank is not large enough to pay $100K for, and Maryland will probably offer a better all round college experience to boot.
