Superscore 2290 - retake?

CR Math Writing Essay Total Date Grade
750 740 740 10 2230 01/2009 11
690 730 800 11 2220 05/2009 11

If I take it again for the third time in.. 12 hours I'm confident that I can get 750+ in all sections.

I'm tempted to take it again because 1) my second time was worse, with CR below 700, and 2) I know I can do much better now. But I've also heard that taking the test three times may hurt my chances, since it is viewed negatively.

Yes I'm neurotic and insecure. I need to make the decision in a few hours so I'd appreciate it if you could please skip such a criticism and offer me a practical view.

Thanks! I apologize if this thread offended someone... Good luck on the Oct test everyone!

Let alone your “superscored score”, all of your separate scores are fantastic. Trust me, even if you are applying to really competitive colleges, your scores are totally past the point where they could hurt you. And since most places superscore, I think you are fine.

Why take it again? it’s a 5 hour exam, which is the closest simulation of torture I can imagine!

At this point, you have great SAT’s. The chance of getting in to a highly selective school will not be improved by 20 or 30 points. Your EC’s, essays and LOR’s will make the difference.

Taking the test three times doesn’t hurt your chances.

Personally, I would take it again, but it really depends on where you’re shooting for.

TAKE IT AGAIN, but only if you’re positive that you’ll improve your score, good luck.

After you get 2200 it doesn’t make a difference to even the most selective colleges. Don’t bother!

pshhh i got 2290 UNsuperscored =PP >_<

Anything above a 2200 on the SAT is considered to be in the 90th percentile for test-takers, so relax. That means, 90% of students who take the test score worse than you.

^um, more like 99th percentile for 2200 -_-

More like 99th percentile, at least for a single sitting.

Wow…pigs…

wow what???

males score higher on the sat… =/ sigh
if only i had a *****…

pigs you’re ridiculous lol.

Well I scored 2260 in a single sitting with 800 CR, 680 M, and 780 W. I was confident I could raise my M and possibly bump my W up to an 800 so I decided to take it again with the knowledge that it wouldn’t really impact my acceptance chances. I guess I saw it as more of a challenge than anything…

wow… your fast…
