Superscore for scholarships?

I know Pitt superscores the ACT for admissions, but will try do it for scholarship consideration? I've taken the ACT twice, and got a 32 both times. Superscored it's a 33 though, which is the minimum criteria for scholarships. So will I be eligible next year when I apply?

My D got a $10k/yr scholarship with a 31 ACT score.

I’m not absolutely positive this was Pittsburgh, but I think it was. I spoke with admissions asking about the Super Score and they said it only applied to the SAT, even though the website made it seem they super scored both. They told me there was no reason to submit both ACT scores since they would only consider the highest. My son is almost identical to the OP so, just double check with admissions before paying to submit multiple scores. .

I’m visiting on Monday so I’ll be sure to ask

Oh, and my son got a 32 and still received a great scholarship. I do think full scholarships start at a higher score level.

I’ve also heard they are more generous with scholarships to OOS students, any truth to this?

I have no idea if they are more generous with OOS, but we are in Texas.

We are OOS too. My D got scholarships at Pitt, UConn, and UDEL, but not our home UMD.

Yes, Pitt is known to be more generous to OOS students, especially from locations underrepresented in their student body.

Part of this is also due to the fact that they consider in-state tuition already discounted for Pennsylvania students.

My S got a $2K scholarship in-state… ACT 30 (31 superscored). MIGHT cover books. Other schools were much more generous.

You can check with OAFA but they superscored my older DS’ SAT and ACT scores (this was almost 5 years ago). We realized they did this during his PittStart when he saw his combined scores. They took the best from the SAT and ACT to give him one score.

They do superscore across tests (i.e. will take some from SAT and some from ACT to make 1 combined score) so I can’t imagine why they wouldn’t score within ACT (since they do it for SAT anyway).

Yes they do superscore act as well as sat. This is true for scholarship consideration as well. I took the campus tour and asked the speaker.

If you don’t mind me asking. What did you receive for a 32 on ACT?Thank you!

I scored a 32 on the ACT and got nothing lel.

D superscored a 33 and got nothing either. Didn’t play the game - rank too low.

Madelyn12, my son did get a pretty good scholarship and got a 32 ACT. Maybe it made a difference he is OOS.

I guess it must have been another school I spoke to about the super score. Now I’m wondering what would have happened had he submitted both scores.

^D also OOS. And I specifically remember them saying in presentation that they superscored ACT, SAT, and across the exams.

It also depends on time of year you applied, major applying into, and which state you are OOS from. Fewer kids apply from Alaska than Ohio, so someone in Alaska with a lower ACT will still have a bigger pull from Pitt than a slightly stronger student in neighboring Ohio.
