Superscore Question

Hi!!

I’m having trouble deciding which test scores to send to colleges and I would love input.

I took the June ACT and was relatively happy with my composite, but it was 1 point lower than I had aimed for. I took the December test and improved English and reading enough so that at schools that superscore, my composite raises by 1 point. However, I didn’t study for the test and struggle with math and science to begin with, so those scores each dropped by 7 points which I know doesn’t look good.

Is it worth it to send both tests to schools that superscore (which is many of the schools on my list) or will they still see my math and science sections and be disappointed with those scores? Does it depend on the specific school that is doing the superscoring?

Thanks so much!

What exactly are the two scores? Except for very top colleges, where a one-point difference could (and I say could as in it isn’t even very likely) make a difference, it might make sense to send both.

Unless your superscore is 36 (or is in the 34-36 range whereas your previous composite score was not), I personally would not send in the score where your English/reading only improves by 1 point but your math/science each drops by 7 points…

I do think it depends on the specific school and their policy for superscoring but I don’t believe most schools care about your superscore (unless it’s outright stated in their admissions policy) as much as your highest composite score.
