Superscore vs highest single sitting

So, in November I took the sat for the first time. I got a 780 M, 740 W and 570 CR, or a 2090 total. Obviously I wanted to get my CR score up, so I studied really hard, and only really focused on CR. In fact, I did not take a single practice section since November in either math or writing. I thought it was only superstore that mattered. I set a goal for myself to get a 730 CR so that I would have a 2250 superscore, and I got exactly that this morning. I was talking to people today about the sat, and they said that it's the highest single sitting that matters, not the superscore. I got a 750 M and a 650 W with my 730 CR for a 2130. Which matters more here. My 2250 or my 2130? And if it is the 2150, should I retake? P.s., my #1 choice right now is NYU Stern if it makes a difference.

It depends on the college, but I think most colleges superscore.

The reason for superscoring is pretty simple; it benefits the college. By superscoring, they can report higher scores in their admissions reports, leading to a better reputation, better applicants for next year, and usually a larger endowment. As a result, it benefits them to take your absolute best scores.

So would you happen to know does NYU superscore?
