Hey yall just got my first rejection:( It was for a program that was by default early decision and they didnt allow me to superscore which really hurt overall as my regular score on the ACT was a 28 and then a 31 superscored. I sent out all 3 of my scores to all the colleges I applied to, but is there anyway that I can confirm that they will recieve the scores? I know it takes a while to send them over. I applied to alot of schools around 8-9. Im really hoping that a 3 point increase from reg to superscore will help me get into atleast 4-5 out of those. hhh this is stressful
I am also wondering what schools superscore the ACT. I’m getting all different sorts of information regarding this. I applied to SUNY Geneseo, Suny Old Westbury,
Suny stonybrook, NYU, Adelphi, Columbia, and Cornell. Do these schools superscore the ACT?
bump
You can start by looking at lists that publish schools that superscore (there are several blogs and test prep centers that posts lists so a quick Google search will get you that), and if you get inconsistent info from those lists, then check the school’s website. A look at Cornell’s website confirms that they do not superscore ACT. Columbia’s freshman application page states that they superscore the ACT.
If the info isn’t listed on the school’s application page, you can also reach out to the admissions department and ask.
Good luck to you and I hope you get some good news with your applications.
Aldelphi, NYU, Columbia, and Suny Geneseo superscore. Cornell does not. I do not the answer for Suny Stony Brook or Old Westbury .
A college’s online admission file set up by an applicant will typically tell the applicant whether the test score requirement has been met but usually will not tell the applicant that all tests sent have been received. If ACT shows the tests have been sent, you can likely assume they have been received, but to get 100% verification of receipt, you would need to actually contact the college.
apparently cornells website says it doesnt superscore but alot of people who applied to cornell are saying that if you send it multiple test scores in with higher scores across different sections, itll help
Hmmmm.
“apparently” where?
https://admissions.cornell.edu/standardized-testing-requirements
“ For the SAT, Cornell considers the highest section scores across test dates. ”
College Board also thinks they do
“ SAT score use policy:
Highest Section Scores Across Test Dates”
To be fair, OP specifically asked about ACT and superscoring. Cornell does not superscore the ACT. However, applicants should still report their highest section scores, as typically colleges do pay attention to section scores…even if they don’t calculate a superscored composite.
thanks
just found out stony and old westbury dont superscore. For the bs/do program at old westbury, my stats are probably too low if my superscore isnt considered :(. The dread is setting in
