Superscoring

How do you super score the ACT? Do I just send both of my tests score reports, or do I just report my best scores in each category?

send both.

Not many colleges superscore the ACT.
Find out if the college you want to go to superscores the test.

Here’s a site that has your answer.
[Colleges that super score ACT | College Admissions Counseling](Colleges that superscore the ACT - BS/MD Admissions by College Admissions Partners)

I do not see many top colleges on this list though. The main ones that catch my eye are CMU, CIT, MIT, NYU, and Brown.

Thanks

Kenyon College is on the list, and they are my #1 choice.

@ hotinpusuit. Don’t forget Wash U which is probably the third most prominent (after MIT and Brown) that superscores ACT.

The list can’t be accurate. The list has the UofIllinois on there, and the U of I website strictly says that they don’t superscore.

Taken from [U</a> of I Admissions: Freshman Admission Requirements](Page Not Found, Illinois Undergraduate Admissions) :
“The University of Illinois does not build a super-score. We use the highest ACT composite or SAT total from a single test date.”

I believe Cornell superscores

Yea the source I provided earlier is a bit outdated - it’s about 2 to 3 years old.

Pardon my insufficient knowledge, but what is super scoring?

Superscoring is taking the best score from each subsection and combining it into one score. For example: ACT 1: science 30 math 30 english 30 reading 30
ACT 2: science 35 math 25 english 35 reading 25
Superscore: science 35 math 30 english 35 reading 30
