I want to make sure that the choice of department/major isn’t actually going to be the department and major that I have to stay in. I wouldn’t mind about the department I guess, but i don’t know what I want to major in yet.
On a similar note, is it possible to double major at Boston College?

The only thing that really matters about intended major is choice of school: biz, nursing, arts & sciences. If applying to Arts & Sciences, intended major doesn’t much matter. Of course, if you mark ‘Math’ and only have a 500 score on a Math Subject Test, an adcom may raise an eyebrow. :)

Excellent!
Does anyone know about double majoring? It would be two majors in the arts/sciences.
(English and Bio/biochem)

Thanks!

Sure double majoring is doable, as long as you can also complete the Core requirements. But, those can also be fulfilled by AP credits.

Dear RiceOwlHopeful : My oldest (senior) of two at Boston College is a double major in Chemistry and Economics. Under the older system which did not value the lab work, newer incoming students will have a slightly easier time in terms of classroom hours of getting a science/non-science double major completed in the College of Arts and Sciences.
