Supplement & Common App Essay

Hello--

I'm applying to transfer to Cornell for the Spring 2010 semester. I've been working on the applications, and when I took a look at the supplement essay and the common app essay they seem pretty identical:

Academic Interest Essay (all applicants to complete)
Please address the topics below in an essay of approximately 500 to 750 words.
Tell us what you’d like to major in at Cornell and why, how your past academic or work experience influenced your decision, and how transferring to Cornell would further your academic interests.

Please provide a statement (250 words minimum) that addresses your reasons for transferring and the objectives you hope to achieve.

I know the supplement essay should be more specific since it's the longer essay, but does anyone have any other tips on how I could approach these essays? How I can start? And how to avoid making them sound repetitive?

Thanks!

bump? please.

anyone can help us in this one?!
