What should I do? I totally forgot that the supplement deadline was Dec 15th!! I think they extended the deadline last year. By any chance will they extend the application deadline this year too? Is there anyone else here who is also late?

You should contact them instead of posting here They will know the answer

Definitely contact the Middlebury office. No guarantees, but that may help.

shoot, i have the same problem as well

Yeah, I have already sent them an email and I will call them on Monday. I posted here in case anyone might have already asked. So anyone else who has already called?

@Altamont: So what are you planning to do? Have you contacted them?

Me too.
I’m gonna call them tomorrow. Hopefully it’s not a huge deal. They only use the supplements to get our files ready for the actual application so I don’t get why it’s so important.

I have no idea of the “real” reason they have this earlier deadline, but I can see how it helps to see who has the school at the top of their list and who might just be tossing in an application, especially this year when there are no additional supplemental essays, graded papers etc. I honestly wouldn’t know what their policy is about being a few days late, but if a bunch of people have their application sent Dec 31 at 11:59PM… just saying.

@collucky: i have sent them an email, hope they will reply

hey i had the same prob as you.plus i am an int’l student but i sent it on dec 16th. so it was a day late. I contacted them and they said its okay that i sent in late. so dont worry so much (:

Hey everyone,
I just called and they said I can submit the supplement today. I hope it’s not going to affect my chance. =)

Yup, me too. I submitted it a few hours ago. The lady who answered the phone was basically like, “We’ve received a few calls about this today, so we’re extending it.”

i was totally unaware that the supplement is due earlier than the application deadline.
U guys above seem fine since u got a reply from the school but now would it be too late considering that the xmas break has already been started?
I’m sending it now anyways… hope they would show some mercy
hah… i hate myself

Oh man. Well, good luck!
I think it’s pretty obvious to Middlebury that the supplement is very easy to submit considering there are no essays, and so people who don’t submit it by the deadline are probably not lazy but simply unaware of this weird deadline. I mean, I guess that says something about our attention to detail and how much we read the application instructions, but I don’t think the admissions officers see it as a huge deal.
But, it has been 10 days since the deadline…

Blame the collegeboard.com that had only listed January 1 as the deadline, or at least that’s what I did

I think they get hundreds of pre-applications late; that should not harm anyone’s chances too much. Or maybe they use the deadline to test our punctuality, because it really makes no sense :)

By the way, I was really surprised to get my email answered almost immediately on Saturday.

you should be fine, i was planning on applying ED I and then decided not to, and then I got an email from Middlebury at the beginning of December saying that if I submitted all my materials that night they would still give me a decision along with the other ED applicants. I really don’t think it’s an issue.

Oh my god. I’m in the same boat. Ive been planning on applying here for weeks now. TOTALLY over looked the fact that the supplement was due December 15th! I just called the admissions office and left a message (obviously closed due to the holiday) and sent an email to the admissions office. I submitted the supplement form about 10 minutes ago, but did not pay the fee because I was worried they would not accept my application and I would lose the money. Does anyone know if they will still accept this?? THis college was one of my top choices and I cannot believe my carelessness has made me miss my chance! If so, then this is ridiculous. Even my college counselor had no idea about this stupid deadline! Please offer suggestions if you have any!!

do you guys know if they look at january test scores?

Samiam504, I’m not sure what to tell you since it is pretty late, but I doubt they’d cast away an enthusiastic applicant just because of their weird deadline.

Chesschamp, I believe they do but I’m not 100% sure.

Yeah it all worked out! Admissions office responded immediately actually. They said as long as its in by the end of the week I’m fine. Wow! lucky…
