In the supplement essay, they ask you to discuss the majors you're interested in - but do they want you to discuss your interests generally (e.g. I like blah because of blah) or specifically with regards to JHU (e.g. JHU offers blah, which I like)?

i believe it is both… I wrote about what majors i would like to pursue at JHU and why I am interested in them

One website that was recently posted is the Academics Blog is wasn’t avaliable when I was writing my supplement XD but it helps a lot because it shows insight to the majors from JHU students.
We leave the supplement essay question pretty open-ended to allow applicants to answer the question as they personally choose to. There is no correct answer as it is still a personal statement. We have no stated preferences as to what a student should write about … just make sure in the end that you answer the question.

A lot of colleges ask for a personal statement. It seems so opene that I’m not sure what they want…help please!

Johns Hopkins University does not ask for a personal statement, so not sure we really can assist you. But so you know, a personal statement is supposed to be open-ended so that each applicant can approach the topic in their own fashion. Evaluating a personal statement as part of a college application is not just evaluating what the applicant wrote but also evaluating the choice of topic and why the applicant chose what they wrote about.

OK, thanks! I’m going to go back and see what I can come up with…
