Supplement Essay Question

How long can the supplement essay be? I know if it's a typed essay, it has to be under 500 characters. I am going to upload mine, which is currently ~750 characters. Is that all right, or do I need to shorten it down to the 500?

Thanks!

750 characters is fine. Mine was 750 words. You should be okay. :]

Yay, thanks.

My D kept it to the 500 characters, so if anyone decides to go that route, it’s okay, too (even though it seems so short).

My daughter just submitted her app, with the vassar essay below 500 characters. It seemed so short, and with people writing so much more, I am afraid she is at a disadvantage. Lets hope not.

I just submitted my essay for Vassar RD, and it was about 700 WORDS. Why are some of you writing such short responses? If I recall, there is no limit?

^Although they do not impose a word limit in the prompt itself, they do have a 500 chars limit in the space provided on commonapp.org, which is why many of us(including me) kept the essay short.
