Supplement essay vs common app essay

Hey guys. I am working on common app and supplement essay for Cornell CALS and this is CALS supplement promt:

Why are you drawn to studying the major you have selected? Please discuss how your interests and related experiences have influenced your choice. Specifically, how will an education from the College of Agriculture and Life Science (CALS) and Cornell University help you achieve your academic goals?

The problem is, for common app essay, I wrote about event and experiences that got me into loving animal science and why I love it so I basically answered the supplement essay except the “how CALS can help” part. I was thinking of moving my current common app essay to supplement and just add the last part but my essay is more creative and has more anecdote (common app style) and I don’t know if it will fit for the supplement side.

Do you think I should kind of repeat what I said on my common app but state it differently with different examples for supplement essay? or should I move current essay (common app style ) into supplement essay and write common app on whole different topic?

Thank you!

My kids went to the trouble to have their common app and supplemental essays cover different territory. A couple times they used a different common app essay to achieve this. You get a chance to tell them a lot about you – duplicating is wasting that real estate, and also is s little boring for them.

Now… this is not what you asked, but to give honest feedback, your common app topic may not be a winner to start with. It doesn’t sound like it has the “pop” that gets admission to an Ivy.

Ok… I wrote about delivering 8 golden retrieverpuppies at home. So you think I should start a completely different one for common app and put the animal science one for supplement?
