i’m RD applicant, and i sent in my supplement online.
but after submitting it, i found out that in the essay section, i typed ‘supplemental essay #3’ instead of #4, which i wrote about. (heh… only if they had a check box next to each quote…)
i called the admission office, but the auto reply said the officers are out till Jan. 6 for holidays. What should I do?
should i make another account and send another one in, explaining what happened? or should i mail it in, with an explanation?

thanx!

Even if you mail it, it probably won't be processed until the adcoms' return anyways. It seems to me that they would know which essay you meant to choose, unless your topic/writing was totally obscure. I would just call and ask come January 6th to make sure, but don't worry too much about it.

my writing isn't obscure, but i don't think they'll try to figure it out themselves. i'm just worried that they'd read the essay in the context of another quote and wonder what happened..

i think amherst admission officers are smart enuff to figure it out... but yeah juz contact them after jan 6 to clarify matters. don't open another account coz that will only mess things up... where wld dey noe which account to place ur recs n other stuff as they come in?
