Supplement issue

I will be completely honest. I have no idea about university of Pennsylvania. Will a lack luster supplement greatly affect my chances? my commonapp should be good any my
sats are
CR 740 Maths 770 Writing 790
SAT 2 Math2, physics,chem 800,800,800

I could be wrong but here’s what I think:
There are tons of students with 4.0 GPAs, 800 SATIIs, and 2300+ SAT I scores, but Penn claims they are looking for more than numbers; they want a holistic student who can contribute something to the community. I think that the opportunity to show this is in BOTH essays and so when picking between two students who are similar stat wise, the student who produces two good essays is more likely to get in than the one who only submits one good essay.
That being said, Ivy admissions are unpredictable and so you shouldn’t predict your outcome based on what someone says on a CC thread. I suggest you just do your best and hope its good enough. It’s not the end if it isn’t though; there are tons of other great school out there.

I guess you are right but I dont want to waste $100 for nothing
Its really hard for me to write a supplement because I am an international hence I know nothing of the atmosphere there

Muneebrocks, I am also an international student and have never had the chanxce to visit Penn. There are, however, tons of resources available. I have spend hours on the internet and their website researching why I would want to attend Penn. Of course, they have stellar academics but so do many other schools. It was not easy for me to write the essay either but not because I do not know the atmosphere at Penn. I think you should do some research and find out why it is you want to attend Penn (and if you can’t find a reason, well then it might not be the right school for you). Write what you are passionate about and how you could pursue that passion at Penn.

Well I have a few hours remaining
frankly I could write 200 words why I want to attend but their limit is 400-600 :(

Why do you want to attend Penn? I, for instance, love the Benjamin Frankin Scholars and Integrated Studies Program. You can say what academica opportunities attract you and why YOU would be a good fit for them.
