I just wrote the first draft of my supplement essay, and it turned out being around 600 words. I'm sure I can edit it down a little, but does it have to be exactly 500 words? Also, I formatted it in an interesting way, so it's slightly over one page. Should I edit it to fit onto one page? thanks!!

We don’t count the number of words submitted so if something is a little bit over or under that’s fine. We still recommend editing it down a tad if that’s possible but don’t fret if something is a little over or a little under. If it’s a lot over or a lot under then we’d recommend some more in-depth revising.

should i be extremely concerned if i have 859 words…

I’d maybe try to trim it down haha. But I know it’s so hard! my common app essay was initially 1000 words, and I cut it nearly in half! it’s possible though. You’d be surprised how much the word count will go down just by eliminating wordiness. say all the same things you did, just with less words! it makes your points stronger anyway.

How long would you recommend the supplement to be WM Admission?

Under 500 words is what they say, but they won’t be counting, so just not too much more than 500!

@soccersara Thank you!
