<p>I think I may have misread the instructions and am possibly freaking out over nothing.</p>
<p>Is the optional essay included in the online supplement or do you have to send it by mail? </p>
<p>If I have to send it by mail, I won't be able to postmark it until the 3rd. In that case, should I even send it?</p>

<p>Just go ahead and send it. They seem to be pretty lenient. I sent another recommendation after the deadline, after calling the admissions office, and they said it was ok. Also, as far as when you have to send it online, they weren't that concerned about the time, like whether it was 12 am Eastern Standard Time of whatever. They said it would be ok even if it was 2 am PST.</p>
<p>You can do an optional essay on the supplement page when you fill everything else out. If you do the optional drawing choice, you obviously have to mail that in.</p>
