Supplement.. Should I Send this?

If I am an elite athlete, should I send as a supplement a list of my competitive history for the past few years that includes international, national, sectional, and regional competitions? My sport definitely comes through on the app, I am just wondering if it is a good idea to send this as well.
Thanks! :)

if it adds sth new then go for it. if you just summarize sth you already have included on your app it is likely going to annoy adcoms… you know, even more to read. plus, what about the deadline? i mailed my arts supplement 2nd jan because the f***** post office was closed on 31st AND 1st… i hope it gets through, it was so much work

Austriangirl: don’t worry. I’m sure that Harvard will understand that the PO was closed in the holiday season. You could fax them a note to inform them of your situation just in case. :)

not worried about harvard ^^ how come you think that?? i only applied to princeton, i either go there and live with my family (and get a GREAT education) or i stay in austria, or go somewhere else, where the pressure is not too hard, and i get a good education as well.
it would be great if they really understood, but the thing is: if i was an adcom and someone does not manage to mail a frieking letter before the po is closed then i say: the hell with it haha. i hope though that they are as liberal as you are (not politically connoted, i mean nice and forgiving)

^ Sorry. I was reading an extremely similar thread to this on the Harvard forum at the same time and replied to both around the same time… Must have gotten them mixed up! :stuck_out_tongue:

And usually, adcoms do consider these things. If your mail goes missing, which often happens, they let you fax/courier it in after the deadline (after everything’s been filed away). Also, Yale accepted my SAT 2 scores just 2 days before EA decisions were released because of a problem with my testing centre. Adcoms, at the end of the day, don’t want to risk losing that gem of an applicant (I know there are lots of kids applying, but still)… What you can do is send a polite fax/written request. I’m sure they’ll consider (after all, it’s a supplement, not your main app… and mail usually reaches them a few days after the deadline anyway). Best of luck!

thanks slakedlime, i think i just thanked you for your reply to another threat. man, you´re helpful ^^
