Princeton says that the two shorter essays should be about 150 words long. Do you think they would mind if my essays are a little bit longer (162-168)?
I think that’s fine. Obviously it would be ideal to keep it under 150, but 162 shouldn’t be a big deal. Read through and make sure you really can’t cut it down anymore. Sometimes we think our essays are perfect and can’t be condensed anymore, only to find on a third or fourth reading that there are ways to trim it down. Good luck!
the common app won’t let you input more than 150 words so i would cut down to fit the world limit
^^^ that’s incorrect. For certain essays the common app won’t let you go over the word limit, but for the Princeton essay there’s a little leeway. I’m not sure exactly how many extra words you’re allowed to go over 150, but it should be around 175 or 200 max. So, like I said above, 162 words should be fine.
Its 250 max. I sure hope it doesn’t truncate, because mine were 220 or something lol
