Supplemental Essays

Hi everyone, I know that Yale allows you to send in an en extra essay but is it ok if we send in two extra essays instead of just one?

I would say .. No. Mainly because they receive thousands of applications, and will not be pleased if they have to read a bunch of "extra-extra" essays. They have to read every single piece of application that you send in to them; sending an extra essays is just asking to get a reader bored or frustrated.

The only exception I could see to this is if you are an AMAZING writer, you might be able to submit an extra essay as a literary display, kind of like when art students send in a portfolio or when music students send in a tape. But only if you are an outstanding, unbelievable, etc. etc. .....writer.

I tend to agree. Say what you will in the two essays required. The directions for the second essay suggest writing a somewhat different essay than the common app. I think the adcom looks for all the variety they could want in the space they provide.
