Supplemental Housing?

I'm slightly skeptical to accept my offer to Penn State due to the fact that I will receive supplemental housing. Can someone comment on supplemental housing and whether it was detrimental or not in their college experience? Was it positive or negative

I actually kinda wish I could do supplemental. Honestly it doesn’t sound too bad at all, you get a bunch of guys you can instantly become friends with, and your room is much larger than everyone elses, meaning other people will want to come and hang out with you. Of course, it doesn’t always work out with everyone in your room being cool, but from what I hear, a lot of times it does and its pretty cool. They usually offer you a regular room halfway through the year too

There’s an entire pinned thread on this very subject, so read that one. My purpose is to say that if your choice of college depends on the type of room you get, maybe you need to rethink your choice, in general.

Actually, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.
