Supplemental Housing

So I got supplemental in the fall and I’m extremely fucking pissed about it. Does anyone have any stories/experiences they wanna share? Can you get out of supplemental?

how do you know?

Housing assignments for freshmen aren’t typically released until July…transfers and upperclassmen are already notified…

But anyway. Supplemental is not the end of the world. The majority of people who wish to move out of supplemental will be able to do so in the first 6 weeks of the semester, when people don’t return, don’t pay their tuition, withdraw, etc… Some people actually opt to stay in supplemental because they like their large roommate pool, or the bigger space. I would not get yourself worked into a frenzy about it just yet. I do agree that for the prices PSU charges for just about everything, they are seriously shirking their responsibility to house their students. There always seems to be room for a new building, as long as it isn’t dorms.

Your lucky that you got a supplemental housing because I am on a waitlist for that as a transfer. I might have to look for off campus housing zzzzzz because right now I have no luck of getting in.

@excellos Try the State College Craigslist Housing listings. I’m a transfer and I was able to find someone who didn’t want their supplemental housing contract. What happens is, people accept housing contracts then decide they want to live off campus; however, they’re locked into the contract unless they find someone without one to take their place. It seems kind of unfair that I was able to jump everyone on the waiting list, but I’ll take what I can get.
