Supplemental LOR

I know that we're only supposed to have one letter from a teacher and one from a counselor, but I have an incredible letter by a professor from the summer program I went to... Would it be really frowned upon to send this in? Or would I be able to just have her send in that letter and not ask someone from my school?

I sent in a supplemental letter. You have to have the required teacher/counselor letters sent in as well.

For the supplement- just send it in yourself with a brief cover letter saying that this is additional info for your application. Put your name and UMID on every page.

Their website says they do accept and review additional materials.

wait 'till the decision has come out. then send it, or else it can screw up the teacher/counselor recs.

trust me.

…but then what would be the point of sending it in if the decision had already been made?

because if it is a deferral it means they would want more info so that they could make a legitimate decision. if you sent in your supplements and they rejected you then there would be nothing else you could do

^ Good point. But i don’t see if it makes a difference since it seems that the OP is not qualified ED so he or she would not be deferred anyways.

i guess so

do you know what ED means…its means Early Decision. Obviously you are not qualified for it , because you are still working on you app…lmao. It has nothing with your stats…haha. damn chill.

Obviously I know what ED means, I’m not an idiot. I just got a little defensive hahah.

But more importantly: no one has answered my question! (except the first poster)

It wouldn’t be frowned upon to send it in at all. Send it in. Waiting to send it in as ammunition to augment a potential deferral is crazy. Put your best foot forward always.
