Alright, I was thinking of sending in a few supplemental materials. And I would like to know your take on them.

I was going to submit a music composition portfolio, a copy of the plans for the Personal Watercraft my high school (with me as the co-president) is making. And a letter from my youth leader (venturer adviser). I would like to know what you think. Would it hurt my chances if I sent them in?

really i dont think anything can hurt your chances.
i know a music portfolio/art portfolio is always a good thing. I was thinking of sending one in as well but im too lazy :-I

i'm submitting my art portfolio. But FYI, Northwestern isn't very big on supplemental materials. they told me there's a good chance that they might not be reviewed. one thing they advised me to do is print out everything and send the hard copies. So don't do anything digitally. it can easily be ignored.
