Supplemental Music - Rock n roll?

Rofl

So i see most kids send in their piano/flute/saxaphone or whatever pieces. Im in this rock/funk/cultural kind of band and i was thinking would it be a good idea to send in my bands demo? I want to show that this music thing is a big part of what I do in my free time, but I dont know, escpecially since its not traditional and it probably gets listened to by the music department and stuff.

Post your opinions.

Bump..Anybody?

I'm not sure, but I don't see why it would hurt. If you're good and spend a lot of time on it then go for it.

Well I play metal, and i think i'll send them a piece.(electric guitar)

Your rock/funk thing should at be safer than mine at least:P

As long as it's not sudden death for anyone not used to your kind of music, it should be ok.

^ Hahah Negru

Yea im too afraid to send in metal. I play electric bass by the way.

Im worried because im not really applying for anything music wise, but thought it would be a good dimension to add to my application. What if it gets evaluated as "sucks." That would hurt me I think. (Also the thing for a rock band kind of thing though is that it will have all the members of the band on it . If singer sucks, that will reflect badly on me too)

Whats your opinion on sending in techno comuterized midi compositions lol? I do alot of those, but not sure if they are so "conventional"
